Juventus vs Atalanta – Serie A Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction
Match Day 32 continues with Juventus taking on Atalanta on Saturday the 11th of July, 2020, at the Allianz Stadium.
Juventus visited AC Milan on Tuesday, a game that will be remembered for a long time. After a goalless first half, Juve took a 0-2 lead early in the second one, looking like they were locking the three points. Amazingly, Milan didn’t just avoid defeat, but they ended up triumphing 4-2(!), making Zlatan Ibrahimović say that if he had been with the team since the start of the season, Milan would be winning the Serie A title at the end of it. Following Wednesday’s matches Juventus were of course still at the top of the table, on 75 points from 31 games, seven points ahead of second-placed Lazio. Their current form reads; LWWWW. Juventus have 24W, 3D and 4L, having scored 65 goals and conceded 30, which leaves them with a 35GD. Coach Maurizio Sarri played a 4-3-3 formation against Milan. Adrien Rabiot scored his first goal of the season in the 47th minute, a true masterpiece, while Cristiano Ronaldo made it 0-2 in the 53rd, his 26th goal in 27 Serie A appearances this season.
Sure, there was no corner-kick in the 75th minute, it was Luis Muriel who touched the ball last, but… the assistant referee didn’t see it, Atalanta took the corner kick, Rafael Tolói headed the ball in, and even like that, the Bergamo side took the lead against Sampdoria on Wednesday. Muriel secured the three points with his 85th-minute goal, and a very beautiful one it was. That was Atalanta’s 11th win a row(!), Serie A and UEFA Champions League matches combined. Obviously, their current form reads; WWWWW. Following Wednesday’s matches Atalanta were 3rd on the table, on 66 points from 31 games, waiting to see what Inter Milan would do against Hellas Verona. Atalanta have 20W, 6D and 5L, having scored 85 goals and conceded 39, which leaves them with a 46GD. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini played a 3-4-1-2 formation against Sampdoria. That was Tolói’s second goal of the season, and the 17th for Muriel.
The reverse fixture, which took place in November 2019, was a 1-3 Juventus triumph, coming from behind, and scoring all three goals after the 74th minute. Last season, both Serie A matches between these two ended in a draw, 1-1 in Turin and 2-2 in Bergamo. Atalanta beat Juventus though, 3-0, in a knock-out Coppa Italia game.
What a game this should be, between the best two teams in the country, someone could claim, at least based on their form ever since the season restarted. Regardless of who wins, we should see at least four goals.
A 3-2 victory for Juventus is predicted at full-time.
