On a five-match winless Serie A (SA) run, Udinese will hope their home form – having picked up 11 of 15 points here – will spur them to life. They have been solid at home this SA season, and have registered 80% of their season clean sheets in Udine, which is why just nine of the 27 league goals they’ve conceded have come at home.
Udinese are yet to score in the first ten minutes of a SA match though, but have seen seven of their 11 league goals arrive before half-time. Udinese have scored first in five of their eight SA home matches, although 11 of their last 15 SA H2H goals came during the second half.
Cagliari have conceded at least twice in their last five league games, including two in added time last match giving them their first SA loss in 14 fixtures (W8, D5, L1). Indeed, they have conceded a third of their SA goals beyond the 80th minute this campaign.
The visitors haven’t netted in the first 15 minutes of any SA road trip so far, although it hasn’t stopped them from opening the scoring in six of their seven away games. However notably, scoring first has yielded full points (either way) only 50% of the time in Cagliari’s SA fixtures this season.
Players to watch: Kevin Lasagna has been Udinese’s first goalscorer with each of his two SA home strikes this campaign. Meanwhile, Cagliari’s Radja Nainggolan has scored three of his four SA goals beyond the hour mark.
Stat attack: Seven of the nine SA home goals Udinese have conceded came during the second half, but none beyond the 80th minute.
Nearly a quarter of total goals (13 of 53) seen in Cagliari’s SA matches have come beyond the 80th minute.
In seven of their last ten SA H2H visits here, Cagliari have conceded at least twice.
